Installation.

This series of works stems from an experimental research project in sculpture and new media that explores the boundaries of aesthetics and perception. The works incorporate bodily fluids, such as menstrual blood, into the body of the sculptural and installation piece.

Through these combinations, the work examines the feelings of abjection that arise when such materials are presented in sterile, seductive and visually sophisticated formats. By transforming them into precious matter, the project seeks to destigmatise the taboos surrounding the body and gender in contemporary Western culture.

The methodology fuses molecular techniques with contemporary sculptural processes. The menstrual blood, which the artist collects over a period of months, is solidified and encapsulated in resin within glass-like structures or translucent panels. This process triggers a fossilisation effect that not only crystallises the fluid’s material properties but also places it within a new aesthetic and conceptual dimension.

This piece formed part of the Liquid Skin exhibition curated by Romana Stehling at C/off Space (Munich, where it was displayed alongside works by Janna Jirkova in February 2026. It was also exhibited in the solo exhibition Feminine Hygiene at the Rezeptfrei Offspace in July 2026 (Munich), accompanied by a text curated by Monica Hirano.
